SWANTON, Ohio – The Coast Guard participated in joint training exercises hosted by the Toledo, Ohio, Air National Guard 180th Fighter Wing from May 12 through May 15 at the Toledo Express Airport.
The training brought together more than 30 agencies from 13 states over a five-day period, during which participants loaded C-130 and C-17 aircraft and simulated medical and evacuation procedures.
Saturday's training focused on medical evacuations. Previous sessions involved loading vehicles and other equipment for use during deployments.
Members of Coast Guard Port Security Units 309, based in Toledo, Ohio, and 305, based in Fort Eustis, Va., participated in loading and unloading small boats into the aircraft.
