NEW LONDON, Conn.--Dr. Vincent Wilczynski will be named Professor Emeritus at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy during the first regimental review of the year Friday, April 1 at 4 p.m.
Wilczynski was previously named U.S. Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education in 2001. In 2003, he was awarded the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Distinguished Service Award for effective leadership, prolonged and committed service, devotion, enthusiasm, and faithfulness in the profession, and the ASME’s Edwin Church Medal in 2005 for his teaching effectiveness and dedication to engineering outreach.
Wilczynski currently serves as the deputy Dean at the Yale School of Engineering and Applied Science where he is the James S. Tyler Director of the Yale Center for Engineering Innovation and Design.
The community is invited to attend all reviews, which are free and open to the public. Bleachers are available and are located in front of Hamilton Hall with a view of Washington Parade Field, where each ceremony will take place. In the event of foul weather, reviews will be cancelled or moved to an indoor location.
Media is invited to attend all reviews, and photography is encouraged. Changes to the review schedule can be made without prior notice.
