HOUSTON — Coast Guard crews and local agencies continue efforts to remove the shrimp boat, Jana Lin, which is partially submerged on the South Galveston Jetty.
The boat, containing 2,500 gallons of marine diesel, reportedly shows no signs of pollution.
A salvage plan has been developed and is scheduled to be implemented on Tuesday.
The Coast Guard is working with the boat owner, contract company, Texas General Land Office and the Galveston Country Office of Emergency Management on salvage operations.
Inclement weather has impeded removing the boat after it was grounded March 6, 2016.
Galveston Beach Patrol will be on scene to assist if needed.
