An HC-130 Hercules aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Florida, located the vessel at 7:35 a.m., transferred a radio and determined the vessel disabled due to engine failure. The Hercules crew will stay with the vessel until the the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Hawk, and Sea Tow Horseshoe Beach arrive on scene to assist further.  It is unknown where the boaters and their vessel will be transported to at this time.

At 11:21 a.m. Monday, watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Alabama, received a call from Laurie Roberts, a friend of Harris, stating Forehand and Harris were expected to arrive in Carrabelle by sunset, Sunday. In addition, she stated Harris had not shown up for work at 9 a.m. Monday.

Roberts stated Harris and Forehand left their vehicle at her house in Carrabelle, drove a rental car to Charlotte Harbor, and departed Saturday on the 39-foot Sea Ray.
