US Coast Guard Band to play free December holiday concerts in DC, Northern Virginia

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Coast Guard Band is scheduled to perform four free holiday concerts in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia with each concert being a different ensemble of instruments and musical styles.

All concerts are free and open to the public.

Friday, December 16:

  • A pop-up concert ensemble of saxophones and brass instruments will perform at the National Museum of American History, 14th St. and Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., 20001, 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The entire U.S. Coast Guard Band will perform at Falls Church High School, 7521 Jaguar Trail, Falls Church, Virginia, 22042, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Free tickets are required for this concert and can either be picked up at Falls Church High School or obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to the school at the listed address.

Saturday, December 17:

  • A pop-up concert ensemble of saxophones and brass instruments will perform at the National Gallery of Art, 6th St. and Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., 20565, 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • A Dixieland Band concert will be held at the Millennium Stage of The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F St., NW, Washington, D.C., 20566, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
