BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard medevaced a 58-year-old man Friday from the 40-foot pleasure craft Last Dollar approximately 46 miles east of Ocean City.

Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders received notification from a good Samaritan at 12:30 p.m. to report the man was in need of immediate medical assistance.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, arrived at the pleasure craft at 2:09 p.m., hoisted the man aboard the helicopter and transferred him to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for further medical assistance.

Watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads in Portsmouth, Virginia, received the initial notification on VHF marine radio channel 16 from the pleasure craft Game Changer. The distress call was then relayed to Sector Baltimore.

A 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Ocean City with two paramedics aboard also responded to the distress call.
