CLEVELAND — Two Michigan-based Coast Guard units are being highlighted as nominees for the title of 2014 Coast Guard video of the year, which have been released over the last 10 days.
Crew members from the National Ice Rescue School, located at Coast Guard Station Saginaw River in Essexville, Michigan, demonstrate all the techniques and equipment used during ice rescue operations. The video is the fourth nominee for Coast Guard video of the year.
Crew members aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Bristol Bay, homeported in Detroit, are shown tending buoys during Operation Spring Restore. The video is the ninth nominee for Coast Guard video of the year.
Members of the public can vote to help determine the video selected as Coast Guard video of the year by "liking" the videos on YouTube.
