HOUSTON — Coast Guard boat and aircrews, along with the beach patrol, are searching for a missing man off Galveston beaches Monday.
Missing is Edgard Gonzalez, 20, of Honduras. He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a black shirt.
A co-worker with Gonzalez saw him go under the water, but reported that he did not resurface. Galveston Island Beach Patrol immediately began their search between Stewart Beach and East Beach at about 2:25 p.m.
Coast Guard support was requested and Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders sent search crews aboard an Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and Station Galveston 29-foot response boat to search the confined area where he is believed to be.
