PORTLAND, Ore. — Admiral Paul Zukunft, Coast Guard Commandant, will be the keynote speaker at the National Harbor Safety Committee Conference at the Red Lion Hotel on the River, at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday.

Zukunft will be addressing the conference on topics to include the Maritime Transportation system, the Arctic and Cyber governance, creating standards that will secure maritime transportation networks.

This three-day event enables professionals from across the nation to discuss policy and regulatory issues, engage with government regulators and develop partnerships that support the maritime industry.

Harbor Safety Committees are local committees that address issues that may include the safety, security, mobility, and environmental protection of a port of waterway.  Members are comprised of representatives of government agencies, maritime labor, industry organizations, and public interest groups.  This members work closely together for the mutual benefit of all port users.
