WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard has disestablished the aids to navigation in the channel between Ocracoke Ferry Terminal and the Inlet Gorge heading towards Hatteras Inlet in North Carolina.
Due to the encroaching shoals and unpredictability of the channel, South Ferry Channel buoys 1 through 6 have been disestablished until a deeper, more navigable channel can be determined.
