Los Angeles — The Coast Guard and Los Angeles County Lifeguards continue their search efforts Monday, for a 45-year-old male diver who went missing near Manhattan Beach Pier Sunday morning.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach operations center received a call at 11 a.m., Sunday, from a friend of Jeff Tolly reporting that Tolly went missing three miles north of Manhattan Beach Pier while diving.Tolly was last seen wearing a black diving suit and black fins, and wearing a black scuba tank.A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Forward Operating Base Point Mugu along with a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Station Los Angeles - Long Beach, Coast Guard cutter Blacktip, an 87-foot patrol boat homeported in Channel Islands Harbor, and Coast Guard cutter Narwhal, an 87-foot patrol boat, homeported in Corona Del Mar, along with surface and air assets from Los Angeles County Fire Department are searching the area for the missing diver.If anyone has any information regarding Tolly's location, please contact the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach operations center at 310-521-3801.
