UPDATE: Lower Mississippi River reopened near Memphis, Tennessee

NEW ORLEANS – The Lower Mississippi River has been reopened to vessel traffic from mile marker 771 to mile marker 767, Wednesday.

Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River reports that all barges have been secured after the vessel Cooperative Enterprise had 42 barges break away, Saturday.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
