The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and the International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC) have contributed $500,000 to the Singapore Shipping Tripartite Alliance Resilience (SG-STAR) Fund to support countries that adopt best practices for crew change.

Scandinavian port operator Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) has initiated a joint collaboration with TradeLens, a blockchain-based platform jointly created by Maersk and IBM.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has banned the Panama-flagged bulk carrier AC Sesoda for underpaying its crew.
AMSA boarded the ship at Mourilyan in Queensland on Thursday, September 10, 2020 to investigate allegations about underpayment.
During AMSA’s investigation, evidence emerged that a number of crew members had only been paid half of their wages since October 2019.
AMSA said that the crew was underpaid by more than AU $118,000.... [Read More]

BeHydro, a joint venture company of Ghent-based engine builder ABC and Antwerp-based shipping company CMB, has launched the first hydrogen-powered dual-fuel engine with a capacity of 1 megawatt (MW).
Over the past three years, BeHydro has developed, produced, and extensively tested a dual-fuel (diesel-hydrogen) engine with a capacity of 1 MW.
