The Hydrogen Council, a global CEO-led coalition working to enable the global energy transition through hydrogen, has welcomed three new members from the shipping and port sectors.
Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) and France’s CMA CGM are among the first shipping companies to join the coalition.
In addition, the Dutch Port of Rotterdam, Europe’s largest sea port, is one of the first industrial ports to embrace the initiative.... [Read More]

The Longshoremen’s Union at the Port of Montreal has launched a four-day strike seeking greater work-life balance and shorter working hours.
The union filed a 72 hour notice of a strike commencing on Monday, July 27th and ending on Friday, July 31 at 06:59 a.m., according to the Maritime Employees Association (MEA).
The strike affects all terminal operations at the Port of Montreal, except for the Oceanex service to Newfoundland and Labrador concerning liquid bulk handling and grain operations at the Viterra terminal.... [Read More]

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has today banned the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Agia Sofia from Australian ports for six months.
The 82,000 dwt Agia Sofia, previously known as Trade Spirit, is owned and operated by Greek company Marmaras Navigation, according to data provided by VesselsValue.
