NEW ORLEANS -- A good Samaritan recovered the body of a missing person in the water and transferred the body to Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office near Donaldsonville, Tuesday. Dead is Ambarish Parekh, 69, of LaPlace, Louisiana. Parekh was reported to have fallen off a crew boat while transiting to another vessel. JUNEAU, Alaska - A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka aircrew medevaced a man from a charter vessel in Snipe Bay south of Sitka, Alaska, Tuesday. The Air Station Sitka helicopter crew hoisted the man and transported him to Sitka where he was met by awaiting emergency medical services personnel. Coast Guard Sector Juneau command center watchstanders received a medevac request from the captain aboard the Sapphire Blue for a 69-year-old man reportedly suffering heart problems. WARRENTON, Ore., — The Coast Guard coordinated the rescue of  a sailor in distress more than 990 miles west of the Columbia River by utilizing the Automated Mutual-Assistance Vessel Rescue system, Tuesday. NEW YORK — Coast Guard crews are enforcing a safety zone on the Hudson River around the Tappan Zee Bridge after a crane collapsed Tuesday afternoon. At approximately 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Coast Guard Sector New York received a report of a partial crane collapse across the western end of the Tappan Zee Bridge, which has closed the roadway to traffic for an undetermined period of time. BOSTON — The Coast Guard responded to a grounded fishing vessel in Woods Hole Pass near Woods Hole, Mass., July 18, 2016. BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard rescued one person from the water in Isle of Wight Bay in Ocean City, Maryland, Monday.  A Coast Guard crew aboard a 24-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water was transiting through Isle Of Wight Bay near the Route 50 bridge when they came upon two people in the water who had fallen from a jet ski.  One person was safely recovered from the water into the 24-foot SPC-SW, and the other person safely swam to shore. BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard suspended its search for the missing boater in the upper Potomac River near Mount Vernon, Virginia, at noon today. Participating in the search was the Coast Guard, Charles County, Maryland, Fire Department; Alexandria, Virginia, Fire Department; Prince George's County, Maryland, Fire Department; Maryland Natural Resources Police; Fairfax County, Virginia, Fire Department; and the National Park Service.
