A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew rescues three of four boaters near Laie, Oahu, after their 30-foot boat Makanani capsized while attempting to tow the 20-foot overturned Iwa July 4, 2016. The fourth man swam to shore successfully. The helicopter crew was diverted from the search for three fishermen from the Iwa off the North Shore of Oahu and resumed the search following the rescue.... [Read More]

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard rescued three boaters attempting to assist in the search and rescue case for three missing fishermen off of the North Shore of Oahu, Monday.  An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point hoisted three men aboard and safely transported them to Haleiwa Boat Harbor. HOUSTON — Coast Guard boat and aircrews, along with the beach patrol, are searching for a missing man off Galveston beaches Monday. Missing is Edgard Gonzalez, 20, of Honduras. He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a black shirt. A co-worker with Gonzalez saw him go under the water, but reported that he did not resurface. ALAMEDA, Calif. — The Coast Guard rescued 10 people after a boat sank near Mandeville Island Sunday at approximately 9:15 p.m. Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center watchstanders received a call at 9:15 p.m., from Maritime Safety and Security Team San Francisco members that a ski boat had sunk in the vicinity of a fireworks display. The boat crew responded to the scene and retrieved all 10 people from the water with no reported injuries. BOSTON - The Coast Guard was called Monday to a plane crash in the west passage of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. Only the pilot, who was reportedly not injured, was aboard the aircraft during the crash.  After the single-engine propellor plane plunged into the bay, a nearby good Samaritan aboard a recreational boat rushed to recover the pilot from the water.The Rhode Island State Police notified Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England in Woods Hole, Massachusetts at 12:51 p.m. The sector launched two 45-foot Response Boat crews from Station Castle Hill and Station Point Judith....
