A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew rescues three of four boaters near Laie, Oahu, after their 30-foot boat Makanani capsized while attempting to tow the 20-foot overturned Iwa July 4, 2016.
The fourth man swam to shore successfully. The helicopter crew was diverted from the search for three fishermen from the Iwa off the North Shore of Oahu and resumed the search following the rescue.... [Read More]

MIAMI - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Kathleen Moore repatriated 50 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, Tuesday.

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard rescued three boaters attempting to assist in the search and rescue case for three missing fishermen off of the North Shore of Oahu, Monday.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point hoisted three men aboard and safely transported them to Haleiwa Boat Harbor. A fourth man was able to swim to shore.
One of the four men is being treated by local emergency medical services personnel for hypothermia. No other injuries were reported. ... [Read More]

ALAMEDA, Calif. — The Coast Guard rescued one person from the water after his boat sank near Rodeo, and medivaced a man from a 30-foot sailboat near Treasure Island Monday afternoon.
Personnel at the Phillips 66 facility in Rodeo contacted Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center watchstanders at approximately 3:15 p.m., reporting a 10-foot sailboat capsized, leaving one person in the water without a life jacket. ... [Read More]

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard and the Navy are searching for three missing fishermen reported overdue north northwest of Oahu, Monday.
Missing is 30-year-old Jensen Loo, 30-year-old Clint Oshima and 30-year-old Derek Tomas.
Their 20-foot fishing vessel Iwa, was spotted overturned by the Coast Guard approximately 25 miles off of Haleiwa Boat Harbor.... [Read More]

HOUSTON — Coast Guard boat and aircrews, along with the beach patrol, are searching for a missing man off Galveston beaches Monday.
Missing is Edgard Gonzalez, 20, of Honduras. He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a black shirt.
A co-worker with Gonzalez saw him go under the water, but reported that he did not resurface. Galveston Island Beach Patrol immediately began their search between Stewart Beach and East Beach at about 2:25 p.m.... [Read More]

ALAMEDA, Calif. — The Coast Guard rescued 10 people after a boat sank near Mandeville Island Sunday at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Coast Guard Sector San Francisco command center watchstanders received a call at 9:15 p.m., from Maritime Safety and Security Team San Francisco members that a ski boat had sunk in the vicinity of a fireworks display.
The boat crew responded to the scene and retrieved all 10 people from the water with no reported injuries. The rescued people were transferred to a Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel and taken to Buckley Cove.... [Read More]

BOSTON— The Coast Guard Brass Quintet performed the national anthem Monday afternoon prior to the start of the Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park.
The Brass Quintet band is based out of the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, and travels the world performing at ceremonies and concerts.
The pregame ceremony also included a fly over by two F-16 Fighting Falcons from the Vermont Air National Guard's 158th Fighter Wing.

BOSTON - The Coast Guard was called Monday to a plane crash in the west passage of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. Only the pilot, who was reportedly not injured, was aboard the aircraft during the crash. After the single-engine propellor plane plunged into the bay, a nearby good Samaritan aboard a recreational boat rushed to recover the pilot from the water.The Rhode Island State Police notified Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England in Woods Hole, Massachusetts at 12:51 p.m. The sector launched two 45-foot Response Boat crews from Station Castle Hill and Station Point Judith.... SEATTLE — A Coast Guard aircrew medevaced a 57-year-old woman who reportedly fell and broke her leg near a beach in Sekiu, east of Neah Bay, Sunday.
The MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Port Angeles hoisted the woman around 1 p.m. and transported her to emergency medical services personnel waiting at Sekiu Airport.
