NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Coast Guard and Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue System (AMVER) representatives presented a certification of appreciation to the captain and crew of the merchant vessel K. Coral, Monday, at the Gateway Terminal South Street Pier in New Haven, Connecticut.
The crew of the K. Coral, a ship enrolled in the AMVER System, was recognized for their heroic actions on June 20 resulting in the rescue of 19 crewmembers from a burning fishing vessel 900 miles southeast of Bermuda last week.... [Read More]

CLEVELAND – Coast Guard crews across the Great lakes had a busy Operation Dry Water weekend, responding to more than 100 cases of mariners in distress, rescuing seven, assisting 133 and removing from the water 6 operators who were boating under the influence.
The names of the individuals rescued, removed and assisted over the weekend will not be released.

MIAMI - The Coast Guard repatriated 103 Cuban migrants, including one migrant with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, within the past 72 hours.

NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard has closed the Red River from mile marker 40 to mile marker 42, Sunday.
A barge reportedly ran aground and is protruding into the channel near mile marker 41.
The river closed to all vessels and any request to transit the river prior to re-opening shall be directed to Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River on VHF-FM Channel 16 for further information.
The Red River Express is en route from Texas and is expected to be on scene late in the evening June 27, 2016 to lighter the barge so it can be safely re-floated.

A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew hoists an injured fisherman from the 79-foot fishing vessel Pacific Star approximately 74 miles southeast of the city of Kodiak, Alaska, June 25, 2016.
Coast Guard Sector Anchorage watchstanders received the call for assistance from the operator of the Pacific Star that a deckhand had been struck in the head by deck rigging and needed medical attention.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Coast Guard suspended the search for a missing Sarasota family Saturday.
Ace Kimberly, 45, and his three children – Rebecca Kimberly, 17, Donald Kimberly, 15, and Roger Kimberly, 13 – were last heard from Sunday afternoon after departing Sarasota en route to Fort Myers.
