PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Capt. Richard J. Wester assumed command of Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads Wednesday during a change-of-command ceremony held at the Sector in Portsmouth.
Wester relieved Capt. Christopher S. Keane, who has served as the Sector Hampton Roads Commander since June 2014. Keane’s new assignment will be at Coast Guard Headquarters as Chief of the Office of Shore Forces.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Coast Guard continues the search for a sailboat with a father and his three teenage children after finding a debris field Wednesday.
Missing are Ace Kimberly, 45, and his three children Rebecca Kimberly, 17, Donald Kimberly, 15, and Roger Kimberly, 13.

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and two good Samaritan boaters recovered three people from the water after their boat capsized near Indian River Inlet Wednesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received a distress call via VHF-FM radio channel 16 from boaters aboard a 23-foot boat.
Sector Delaware Bay issued an urgent marine information broadcast, diverted an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, and launched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Indian River Inlet, Delaware.... [Read More]

MIAMI - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Charles Sexton repatriated 73 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, Tuesday.
These repatriations are a result of four separate migrant interdictions at sea within the last week in the south Florida Straits. In each instance, the Coast Guard helped secure the U.S. border and prevented these perilous sea voyages from ending in tragedy.... [Read More]

BOSTON — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane towed the 86-foot fishing boat Buzzards Bay with five people aboard after it became disabled Tuesday 50 miles northeast of Cape Cod.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England were notified by the captain of the Buzzards Bay at around 3:30 a.m. that the boat was disabled due to a main diesel engine failure.... [Read More]

BOSTON — Coast Guard crews found the missing couple who went rafting Monday afternoon in Cohasset.
At about 4 a.m. Tuesday, the MH-60 Jayhawk air crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod spotted the couple about eight nautical miles northwest of Rocky Beach. Station Point Allerton 29-foot response boat crew arrived on scene and brought the couple aboard. The boat crew is bringing the couple back to the station to awaiting Emergency Medical Services.

BOSTON — Coast Guard crews are searching for a missing couple who went rafting Monday afternoon in Cohasset.
At about 1 a.m. Tuesday, Coast Guard Sector Boston watchstanders received a report from the couple’s son that his parents, Kathleen, 52, and Joseph Earner, 55, went out in a green and yellow raft yesterday afternoon in the vicinity of Rocky Beach and haven’t returned. The companies who own and operate the vessel, as well as two engineers from the ship, were convicted of 12 felony counts at the U.S. District Court in Seattle, Jun. 20, 2016, due to the dumping of oily waste at sea in a voyage from China to Seattle in October of 2015.

HOLLAND, Mich. — The Coast Guard suspended its search Monday afternoon for a 16 year old boy who was thrown into the water Sunday when the vessel he was aboard capsized during a high-speed turn in Lake Michigan near Holland.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Coast Guard announced Monday new towing vessel regulations establishing new requirements for the design, construction, onboard equipment and operation of towing vessels.

HOLLAND, Mich. — Search efforts by the United States Coast Guard, Ottawa County Sheriff Department and Holland Fire Department are ongoing in the water a quarter mile off Holland for a missing 16-year-old boy.
The names of those involved in the case are not being released and there is no imagery or video available for this case.

Javier Castro, 21, from Cape Coral, Florida, was last seen while swimming near Boca Grande, Saturday.

BOSTON — A Coast Guard rescue crew from Station Portsmouth Harbor rescued two people and a dog aboard 26-foot boat Sunday afternoon near Boone Island, Maine.
The Coast Guard received a call for help from the crew aboard Blue Gold at around 11 a.m. stating they were disabled and taking on water.
