NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, NOAA and the Oil Response Company are responding to a diesel spill in Gulfport, Mississippi, Wednesday.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at approximately 5 a.m., that a potential of 250 gallons of diesel was estimated to have entered Gulfport Harbor during a fuel transfer.
The Oil Response Company has deployed 1,000 feet of containment boom around the vessel to reduce impact to the harbor.... [Read More]

MIAMI — Two boaters who were reported missing off the coast of Marathon, Florida, were located by a Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 aircrew Wednesday.
Raymond and Davonna Churchill, from Marathon, Florida, were located southeast of Marquesas Keys, Florida, aboard their 41-foot sailing vessel. After locating the pair, the aircrew established a line of communication with the sailing vessel and confirmed that the boaters were not in distress. ... [Read More]

CAPE MAY, N.J. – A change-of-watch and retirement ceremony for the Coast Guard Training Center Cape May’s Command Master Chief is scheduled for Wednesday at the training center.
Master Chief Petty Officer Terry Cowart, a Savannah, GA., native and 1982 graduate of Savannah High School, will be retiring after more than 30 years in the Coast Guard. His replacement as Command Master Chief will be Master Chief Petty Officer William Hollandsworth.... [Read More]

NEW YORK — The Coast Guard has suspended the search for a paddle boarder who was last seen off Atlantic Beach, New York, on Sunday.
Missing is Gary Turkel, 41.
Turkel was reported missing by the Nassau County Fire Department at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sunday.
A family member called local authorities and stated Turkel had gone out on a paddle board and had not returned. A lifeguard in the vicinity of Atlantic Beach last saw him at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the paddle board without a life jacket.... [Read More]

HOUSTON — Coast Guard, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Matagorda County Sheriff's Office are searching for a missing man near the mouth of the Colorado River, between Freeport and Port O'Connor.
Missing is a hispanic male between 25 and 30-years-old, assumed to be in boxer shorts.
The man's friends reportedly left him sitting at their campsite for an hour or so and when they returned, his cell phone, shorts and shirt were sitting on the beach and he was gone.... [Read More]

NEW YORK – The Coast Guard suspended its search Monday evening for a person in the water in the vicinity of Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut.Coast Guard crews searched for nearly 24 hours and covered 78 square miles, south of Bridgeport.
During the search, the air temperature was 50 degrees with 25 knots of winds.

BOSTON — The U.S. Coast Guard is scheduled to conduct an active-shooter exercise Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Air Station and Base Cape Cod.

NEW YORK – Coast Guard and local agencies suspended their search for a missing paddleboarder in the vicinity between Orient Point, New York, and Milford, Connecticut, Monday.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., the Clinton Fire Department located the body of the paddleboarder five miles south of the Connecticut River.
