BOSTON – The Coast Guard and partner agencies searched Mt. Hope Bay in Rhode Island Sunday, after receiving a distress signal from an improperly disposed of Electronic Position-Indicating Radio Beacon.
At approximately 12:40 p.m. watchstanders at the First Coast Guard District command center received a transmission from an EPIRB indicating a boat was in distress.
An MH-60 Jayhawk crew from Air Station Cape Cod and a 45-foot response boat crew from Station Castle Hill launched to locate the vessel.... [Read More]

BOSTON — The Majesty, a 113-foot Boston Harbor Cruise ship, was safely refloated Sunday morning after it had run aground near Georges Island Saturday night.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., during high tide, a small crew aboard the Majesty was able to restore power and safely move the ship.
The plan was approved and supervised by Coast Guard Sector Boston.
The commercial salvage vessel Gateway Endeavor was contracted by Boston Harbor Cruises and stood by in case needed.
A Boston Police marine unit was also on scene during the operation.... [Read More]

BOSTON – The Coast Guard along with partner agencies is responding to the grounding of the Majesty, a 113-foot Boston Harbor Cruise Ship, with 152 people aboard Saturday night.
At approximately 7 p.m. Coast Guard Sector Boston received notification that the Majesty had run aground near Georges Island in Boston Harbor.

NORTH BEND, Ore. — A Coast Guard aircrew and local agency personnel rescued two 14-year-old males from a cliff north of Roads End State Park in Lincoln City, Saturday.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew, from Air Station North Bend and forward deployed to Air Facility Newport, hoisted the hikers and transported them to local agency partners on the nearby beach.... [Read More]

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard is seeking the public's help in identifying the owner of an unmanned, adrift kayak found in the vicinity of Hawaii Kai, Oahu, Saturday.
The two-person kayak is yellow with no markings, paddles or equipment onboard.

CLEVELAND — As part of the safety awareness for National Safe Boating Week, which ran from Saturday through Friday, the Coast Guard 9th District is encouraging outdoor enthusiasts to 'Share the Waterways' throughout the Great Lakes boating season.

SAULT STE MARIE, Michigan — Coast Guard crews continue to respond, Saturday, to the motor vessel Roger Blough that ran aground Friday in Whitefish Bay in Lake Superior.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — One person was killed and two people were injured when two boats collided near Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg, Friday evening.
The names of the dead and injured are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

NEW YORK CITY — Coast Guard crews and local responders are responding to reports of a small plane crashing on the Hudson River, New York, Friday.
Divers of the New York Police Department recovered the pilot from the P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft that crashed on the Hudson earlier, Friday.
The New York Police Department will conduct Next of Kin notifications.
The Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to conduct salvage operations of the aircraft Saturday.

NEW YORK CITY — Coast Guard crews and local responders are responding to reports of a small plane crashing on the Hudson River, New York, Friday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York received a call at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday, reporting a small plane had crashed into the Hudson River.
Sector New York issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast notice to mariners, requesting vessels in the area to keep a sharp lookout for the crashed plane and for any survivors.

Personnel aboard the Crystal Serenity, a 820-foot Bahamas-flagged cruise ship homeported in Nassau, requested the medevac when one of their passengers was reportedly suffering from internal bleeding while transiting from Astoria to San Fransisco, Calif.
