BOSTON – The Coast Guard and partner agencies searched Mt. Hope Bay in Rhode Island Sunday, after receiving a distress signal from an improperly disposed of Electronic Position-Indicating Radio Beacon. At approximately 12:40 p.m. watchstanders at the First Coast Guard District command center received a transmission from an EPIRB indicating a boat was in distress. An MH-60 Jayhawk crew from Air Station Cape Cod and a 45-foot response boat crew from Station Castle Hill launched to locate the vessel.... [Read More]

BOSTON — The Majesty, a 113-foot Boston Harbor Cruise ship, was safely refloated Sunday morning after it had run aground near Georges Island Saturday night. At approximately 3:30 a.m., during high tide, a small crew aboard the Majesty was able to restore power and safely move the ship. The plan was approved and supervised by Coast Guard Sector Boston. The commercial salvage vessel Gateway Endeavor was contracted by Boston Harbor Cruises and stood by in case needed. A Boston Police marine unit was also on scene during the operation.... [Read More]

At approximately 7 p.m. Coast Guard Sector Boston received notification that the Majesty had run aground near Georges Island in Boston Harbor. NORTH BEND, Ore. — A Coast Guard aircrew and local agency personnel rescued two 14-year-old males from a cliff north of Roads End State Park in Lincoln City, Saturday. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew, from Air Station North Bend and forward deployed to Air Facility Newport, hoisted the hikers and transported them to local agency partners on the nearby beach.... NEW YORK CITY — Coast Guard crews and local responders are responding to reports of a small plane crashing on the Hudson River, New York, Friday.
