BALTIMORE — The Unified Command announced Friday it has concluded the emergency response phase of the oil response at Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary near Arlington, Virginia, and is transitioning into a remediation project led by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

SAN FRANCISCO — Coast Guard Port Security Unit (PSU) 312 members takes a few moments out of an intensive training schedule, Friday, to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Coast Guard Reserve at Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco.
The Auxiliary and Reserve Act of 1941 designated the Coast Guard Reserve as a military branch of the Armed Forces. This Act, founded Feb. 19, is recognized today as the event that marks the birthday of the Coast Guard Reserve.

A seasonal alert status is the posture set from Dec. 1 to Mar. 31 to prepare for the potential presence of ice.

BOSTON — The Coast Guard lifted the safety zone restricting traffic in the North Channel Thursday afternoon for all vessels.
An obstruction buoy is in place to mark the location of the 55-foot tug boat Emily Anne that sank east of Deer Island Tuesday morning.
