BOSTON – The Coast Guard is continuing to enforce a safety zone restricting traffic in the North Channel Thursday after the 55-foot tug boat Emily Anne sank east of Deer Island Tuesday morning.
The safety zone encompasses part of the North Channel and prohibits transit of deep draft vessels.
Vessel traffic will be restricted until channel surveys are complete and confirm the channel is clear of obstruction after divers discovered the Emily Anne may be broken apart. ... [Read More]

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard and Hawaii County Fire Department are searching for a missing diver off Puako Beach, Big Island, Wednesday.
Missing is 69-year-old Diana Wolking.
Wolking was last seen wearing a black rash guard, black and white bikini bottom with a scuba tank and black fins. ... [Read More]

MIAMI — Search efforts for a Cuban migrant who was reported missing off the coast of Key West, Florida, were suspended Wednesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Guard Sector Key West received a report from a good Samaritan of a landing of 11 Cuban migrants on Man Key, Florida. The migrants claimed two other men in their group were last seen swimming towards Key West. A Naval Air Station Key West launched a UH-60 helicopter crew that rescued one of the migrants off of Crawfish Key, Florida.... [Read More]

The official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Maritime Safety and Security Team Houston was held at Sector Houston-Galveston, Feb. 17, 2016.
HOUSTON — Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team Houston celebrated the official opening of their new building at Ellington Airport with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning.
