Coast Guard Stock Image BOSTON — The Coast Guard Cutter Campbell returned to its homeport at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine, Sunday, following a 61-day counter narcotics patrol of the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific Ocean.  In the span of one month Campbell seized or disrupted a total of seven smuggling vessels carrying cocaine from South America bound for the United States. The amount of cocaine seized was estimated to be 4,800 pounds and worth more than $80 million dollars.... [Read More]

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the First Coast Guard District command center was notified that a patient at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital needed to be airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital. The safety zone encompasses part of the North Channel and prohibits transit of deep draft vessels. The South Channel remains open and may be used by vessels that may safely navigate it. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier repatriated 26 Dominicans to La Romana, Dominican Republic Sunday, after a group of 36 migrants was interdicted in the Mona Passage traveling illegally to Puerto Rico Friday.
