BALTIMORE — The captain of the port for the Port of Baltimore set ice condition three Friday and cautions mariners to be aware of ice formation within the Coast Guard Sector Baltimore COTP zone. Ice condition three is set when weather conditions are favorable for the formation of ice in navigable waters. BOSTON — The Coast Guard assisted two people aboard the 50-foot fishing boat Lois Virginia Thursday after the boat became disabled 31 miles south of Block Island. The crew aboard Lois Virginia used a VHF-FM radio to contact Coast Guard watchstanders at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday to report their distress. BALTIMORE — The Unified Command received results Wednesday of oil samples recovered during response operations in Arlington, Virginia. CLEVELAND — The Great Lakes Ballast Water Working Group released its 2015 Summary of Great Lakes Seaway Ballast Water Management activities Thursday. During 2015, 100 percent of vessels bound for the Great Lakes Seaway from outside the Exclusive Economic Zone received a ballast water management exam. WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard rescued two men Tuesday after their boat overturned near Carolina Beach.Sector North Carolina watchstanders received a report at 11:06 p.m. Monday stating two men, ages 25 and 35, were aboard the 41-foot fishing boat Allicat, when the boat ran aground in Snow's Cut.
