HONOLULU — The Coast Guard's search for a missing diver ended when a body was located 23 miles southeast of Nawilliwilli, Friday. A commercial tug transiting from Kauai to Oahu noticed a strobe light at 5:20 a.m. Friday, which was attached to JJ Jackson's bouyancy control device. Jackson was not with the equipment. SEATTLE — A Coast Guard boatcrew assisted Bellingham Police Department personnel in the removal of two activists who secured themselves to the chain of the barge American Trader in Bellingham, Friday morning. The protesters were taken to Coast Guard Station Bellingham at about 9:30 a.m., aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium, where Bellingham Police officers placed them under arrest. PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Crewmembers of the Coast Guard Cutter Elm participated in a beach cleanup, June 12, at Shackleford Banks, North Carolina. 15 crewmembers, two family members and a National Park Service ranger worked together to remove more then 150 pounds of trash during a two-hour period.   BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard is scheduled to establish a temporary regulated area Sunday in designated waters in the Chesapeake Bay near Kent Island, Maryland for The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim. The regulated area will be in effect from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, which may limit or prohibit navigation by commercial and recreational waterway users.   PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard monitored the salvage of the sunken 48-foot sports fisher Bigbi Thursday, two miles north of Little Creek. The Bigbi sank at approximately 5:40 a.m., Saturday. CHICAGO - A Chicago woman was sentenced in federal court Thursday for making a false distress call nearly two years ago which led to several agencies launching a dangerous search and rescue operation in Lake Michigan off of Rogers Park Beach. Leona Chewning, 24, was sentenced to 180 days of community confinement, three years of probation and $13,613 in restitution for knowingly and willfully causing the Coast Guard to attempt to save lives and property when no help was needed, in violation of Title 14, U.S. Code, section 88(c).
