SAN FRANCISCO — One person was rescued by good Samaritans off Dillon Beach in Bodega Bay Wednesday evening. Another person was recovered in the water and transported to a local hospital where he was declared deceased.At 4:49 p.m., Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders received a report of two kayakers in distress. The Coast Guard Cutter Richard Etheridge seized approximately 466 pounds of cocaine and apprehended three Dominican Republic smugglers following an at-sea interdiction March 17, 2015, off the coast of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.  The seized contraband was estimated to have a wholesale value of approximately $7 million dollars and was transferred to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents in Puerto Rico. GOLCONDA, Ill. — The Coast Guard is responding to the sinking of a towing vessel on the Ohio River near Golconda, Illinois, Wednesday. Coast Guard Sector Ohio River Valley watchstanders were notified the towing vessel David Dunnigan sank while working near mile marker 897.5, at approximately 8 p.m. The David Dunnigan reportedly capsized, sank and drifted down river.  The exact location of the sunken vessel is unknown at this time.... MIAMI — The Coast Guard is reminding mariners in the Fort Pierce Inlet area of temporary waterway restrictions to ensure the safety of crews conducting salvage operations for a barge that sank in late February. A safety zone has been established round the sunken barge at the entrance of Fort Pierce Inlet at position 27-28’20”N, 080-17’13”W.  Salvage operations are scheduled to continually through Thursday.  ... The Motor Vessel Grey Shark, a 360-foot Panamanian-flagged roll-on/roll-off vessel departed New York on March 11, 2015, bound for the Caribbean Sea with 13 crewmembers aboard. PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The U.S. Coast Guard is searching Tuesday with a research vessel crew for a person in the water approximately 1,500 miles southeast of Bermuda.
