SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The crew of a Coast Guard rescue helicopter recovered the body of a surfer just off Steps Beach Tuesday afternoon in Rincon, Puerto Rico. Coast Guard watchstanders in Sector San Juan received a 911 call at 2:16 p.m. Tuesday reporting a missing 28-year-old male surfer in the area of Steps Beach wearing grey trunks. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Borinquen was launched to the scene, while Puerto Rico Emergency Management rescue crews also responded to assist with the search.... SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard, San Francisco Police Marine Unit and Vessel Assist San Francisco saved two people aboard a pleasure craft after their vessel began sinking near the Oakland Estuary in the San Francisco Bay Tuesday morning. At 10:28 a.m. Tuesday, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco’s Command Center received a VHF-FM radio transmission on channel 16 from a person aboard a 29-foot pleasure craft reporting the boat was taking on water at a rapid rate. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 29-year-old man was located deceased by a good Samaritan, and recovered by a Coast Guard crew eight miles west of Hudson Beach, Florida, Tuesday. Deceased is Anthony Coffey, 29. A 45-foot Response Boat — Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Sand Key, Florida, found Coffey. CLEARWATER, Fla. - An injured man was medevaced from a commercial tank ship 100 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida, Sunday morning.  At approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday, watchstanders from the Coast Guard 7th District command center in Miami, received a call from a crewmember aboard the commercial tank ship, Cielo di Guangzhou, stating a 43-year-old man had suffered a leg injury and was in need of emergency medical assistance.
