A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Facility Newport, Ore., rescues two surfers from a cliff south of Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport Feb. 14, 2015. WARRENTON, Ore. — A Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted two surfers from a cliff south of Yaquina Head Light in Newport, Saturday. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Newport safely transferred the surfers over to Newport Fire and Rescue personnel after landing on the nearby beach. CLEVELAND — The U.S. Coast Guard assisted two snowmobilers near Kingsville, Ontario, after they became stranded nearly two miles off the Canadian side of Lake Erie, Saturday morning. SEATTLE — Coast Guard crews responded to a report of a disabled vessel and assisted local law enforcement personnel with the arrest of a mariner in Ilwaco, Friday. After locating the disabled vessel and towing it to Station Cape Disappointment, Coast Guard personnel discovered safety and possible criminal violations aboard the mariner's vessel during a post search and rescue boarding, prompting the involvement of both Wahkiakum and Pacific County Sheriff personnel resulting in the mariner’s arrest.... BOSTON — The Coast Guard responded to a sinking 35-foot fishing boat off the coast of Monroe Island, Maine, today.  At about 9 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Northern New England in Portland, Maine, received a call on VHF channel 16 from a crewmember aboard Loretta, homeported in Matinicus Island, that the boat was taking on water south of Monroe Island. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 70-year-old man was medevaced from a 65-foot charter fishing boat by the Coast Guard seven miles west of Sanibel, Florida, Saturday. At approximately 2:30 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida, received a call from a crewmember aboard the Sea Trek, via VHF-FM channel 16, stating a man had been injured and needed emergency medical assistance.  A Coast Guard flight surgeon was notified and recommended the man be medevaced....
