Pan-European ferry and logistics company P&O Ferries, owned by DP World, has offered to transport COVID-19 vaccines into the UK free of charge.
The United Kindom has become the first Western nation to authorize the COVID-19 vaccine developed by US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.
The UK Government has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine, which is expected to be enough to vaccinate 20 million people.... [Read More]

Norwegian shipping and tank terminal company Odfjell SE has reached an agreement with Lindsay Goldberg (LG) to acquire their indirect 24.5% shareholding in Odfjell Terminals Korea (OTK) for $19 million.
Following the transaction, Odfjell SE will control 50% of OTK’s shareholding alongside the long-term, local JV partner KPIC. OTK generated an annual EBITDA of $2.2 million and net result of $0.7 million in FY2019 (based on 25.5% Odfjell SE shareholding).... [Read More]

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has placed an order for three very large crude carriers (VLCCs) with South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
The contract is worth KRW 282 billion ($ 260 million), according to the shipbuilder.
The VLCC trio will be compliant with the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) 2 once constructed at DSME’s Okpo shipyard. The contract includes options for three additional ships.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2023.... [Read More]

Finnish engineering majors Konecranes and Cargotec have won approval from the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority for their merger prospectus.
The merger was announced in October this year. The proposed combination is scheduled to be implemented as a statutory absorption merger whereby Konecranes will be merged into Cargotec.... [Read More]

Boskalis will add a multipurpose DP2 vessel Boka Tiamat to its fleet in January 2021, the company said via social media on 3 December, and will deploy the vessel on offshore wind projects in Taiwan.

Singapore’s shipbuilder Strategic Marine has recently signed a sale and purchase agreement with Malaysian vessel operator Centus Marine for one 40m fast crew boat (FCB).
This will be the 48th vessel delivered by the aluminium shipbuilding specialist to Malaysian operators and the second one to be delivered to Centus Marine, Strategic Marine has said.
Delivery is scheduled for January 2021 at the shipbuilder’s Singapore yard.... [Read More]
