ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 29-year-old man was located deceased by a good Samaritan, and recovered by a Coast Guard crew eight miles west of Hudson Beach, Florida, Tuesday. Deceased is Anthony Coffey, 29. A 45-foot Response Boat — Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Sand Key, Florida, found Coffey. William Coffey, 17, was found alive by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission crews earlier today and was transported to Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida.... [Read More]

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — William Coffey was rescued by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission crews in a debris field eight miles west of Hudson Beach, Florida, Tuesday. Missing is Anthony Coffey, 29. FWC crews reported to the Coast Guard they found Coffey severely hypothermic and clinging to a lifejacket. NORTH BEND, Ore. — A Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced a 36-year-old mariner with reported chest pains from a commercial fishing vessel off Cape Blanco, Monday. SEATTLE — The Coast Guard is responding to a report of pollution on the Hoquiam River in Grays Harbor, Monday. A Coast Guard incident management team is currently on scene working with Cowlitz Clean Sweep personnel to contain and clean up pollution by booming off the area, using absorbent materials, flushing the waterway, setting up containment berms and using vacuum trucks to remove contaminated water.... Fort Myers Beach, Fla.— Two boaters reported missing Monday morning were found two hours later aboard their 20-foot aground sailboat near Shell Point (Florida) Marina by the Coast Guard and Lee County (Florida) Sheriff's Office.  A friend of the two men contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach at approximately 5 a.m. stating the men had left from Shell Point Marina at around 5 p.m. Sunday, and when she had not heard from the men by morning she became worried....                                           BOSTON — Coast Guard crews responded to an offshore distress call from a 43-foot sailing vessel that was disabled and adrift in a winter storm about 150 miles south of Nantucket, today. First responders from Kingsville, Ontario, prepare for rescue efforts of two individuals who were stranded two miles offshore of Kingsville on unstable ice, Feb. 14, 2015. An aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Detroit hoisted the two individuals from their location on the ice and transported them to the Kingsville ferry docks where they where met by Kingsville first responders. CLEARWATER, Fla. - An injured man was medevaced from a commercial tank ship 100 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida, Sunday morning.  At approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday, watchstanders from the Coast Guard 7th District command center in Miami, received a call from a crewmember aboard the commercial tank ship, Cielo di Guangzhou, stating a 43-year-old man had suffered a leg injury and was in need of emergency medical assistance. A Coast Guard flight surgeon was notified and reccomended the man be medevaced.... [Read More]

A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Facility Newport, Ore., rescues two surfers from a cliff south of Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport Feb. 14, 2015. WARRENTON, Ore. — A Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted two surfers from a cliff south of Yaquina Head Light in Newport, Saturday. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Newport safely transferred the surfers over to Newport Fire and Rescue personnel after landing on the nearby beach. SEATTLE — Coast Guard crews responded to a report of a disabled vessel and assisted local law enforcement personnel with the arrest of a mariner in Ilwaco, Friday. After locating the disabled vessel and towing it to Station Cape Disappointment, Coast Guard personnel discovered safety and possible criminal violations aboard the mariner's vessel during a post search and rescue boarding, prompting the involvement of both Wahkiakum and Pacific County Sheriff personnel resulting in the mariner’s arrest.... BOSTON — The Coast Guard responded to a sinking 35-foot fishing boat off the coast of Monroe Island, Maine, today.  At about 9 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Northern New England in Portland, Maine, received a call on VHF channel 16 from a crewmember aboard Loretta, homeported in Matinicus Island, that the boat was taking on water south of Monroe Island.
