On 26 October, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions on the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC), the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), and the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, representing America’s latest attempt to increase economic pressure on Iran.

Saudi Arabia’s Bahri, the world’s largest owner and operator of very large crude carriers (VLCCs), closed the third quarter of this year with a 114% rise in its net profit that was attributed to the improvement in operations.
As informed, Bahri’s net profit rose to SAR 314 million ($83.7 million) in the third quarter of 2020 from SAR 147 million ($39.2 million) seen in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Total revenues amounted to SAR 1.51 billion in Q3 2020, an increase of 2% compared to SAR 1.48 billion recorded in Q3 2019.... [Read More]

The Italian ship-owning Group Premuda, controlled by Pillarstone, has set up a joint venture with ship management and maritime service provider Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM).
The JV enables CSM to enter the Italian market by taking over the full management of the entire Premuda fleet, consisting of 28 ships.

APM Terminals Poti (APMT) and Poti New Terminals Corporation (PNTC) have teamed up to jointly develop a new bulk cargo facility on the northern side of the Poti Sea Port.
