PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching Wednesday for a missing man in the Elizabeth River in the vicinity of High Street Landing in Portsmouth. Portsmouth 911 dispatch operators contacted Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads Command Center watchstanders at approximately 12 p.m. to report that a man was seen jumping into the river. JOPPA, Ill. — The Coast Guard is responding to a barge collision on the Ohio River near Joppa, Illinois, Wednesday. Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley watchstanders were notified a collision took place between the towing vessel Christina Belcher, pushing two crude oil barges, and a loaded sand barge in a fleeting area at mile marker 952, at around 3 a.m. There were no reported injuries.... CAPE ROMAIN, S.C. — A missing boater has been located Wednesday in the vicinity of Raccoon Key, South Carolina. The man was found by a Department of Natural Resources officer searching on foot on the island of Raccoon Key at approximately 12:20 a.m. The boater was reported to have no injuries and suffered from being cold. WARRENTON, Ore. — A Coast Guard Air Station Astoria MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew rescued a man injured in a logging accident near Neskowin, Ore., Tuesday. The Jayhawk crew traveled approximately 63 miles, successfully hoisted the man aboard the helicopter and brought him to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where he was met by local emergency medical services for advanced medical care. ... PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Decisive returned to their homeport in Pascagoula, Mississippi on Friday, following a six-week patrol in the Caribbean Sea supporting the Joint Interagency Task Force-South. During the deployment, the 70-member crew of the Decisive was primarily responsible for conducting counter drug operations in support of U.S. and international laws. The Decisive worked directly with federal and international partners at JIATF-S and the 7th Coast Guard District to combat transnational organized crime networks operating in the Caribbean Basin....
