ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced an injured hiker from the northern coast of Afognak Island, near Kodiak, Sunday.
The Jayhawk crew safely hoisted the 62-year-old male hiker and transported him to awaiting emergency medical services in Kodiak.... [Read More]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Kodiak rescued two people aboard a disabled vessel near Togiak in Tvativak Bay Sunday.
The helicopter crew hoisted a man and a pregnant woman from the 29-foot fishing vessel Yo Yo, homeported in Dillingham, and safely transferred them to Togiak.... [Read More]

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A boater recovered the body of a woman who was parasailing Saturday evening, after she fell to the water near South Padre Island.
The boater called the Coast Guard at 6:23 p.m., reporting that he picked her up and began CPR. A Coast Guard Station South Padre Island boatcrew continued CPR and transported her to local emergency services where she was pronounced dead.
The details of the accident are currently being investigated by Coast Guard and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials.... [Read More]

HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Coast Guard has reopened the Mississippi River to all traffic in the vicinity of Hannibal, Mo., Monday.
The Coast Guard reminds recreational boaters and mariners to always wear your life jackets, ensure the proper safety equipment is on board and to file a float plan.
The Coast Guard urges mariners to monitor VHF-FM channels 16 and 22 for changes to river traffic.

A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Barbers Point rescues the four survivors, three men and a dog, of the sinking of the 70-foot catamaran Brandi Anne 41 miles northeast of Oahu's North Shore Aug. 9, 2015.
The master of the vessel made a mayday call to the Coast Guard at 12:44 p.m. to report the vessel sinking and the crew abandoned ship into a life raft.

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The U.S. Coast Guard closed a portion of the Upper Mississippi River due to dredging operations, Friday.
The Upper Mississippi River is closed to all vessel traffic from mile marker 306.4 to mile marker 306.6, near Hannibal. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun emergency dredging after a vessel ran aground in the vicinity, Friday.... [Read More]

MIAMI — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a man from a cruise ship, Sunday, approximately 40 miles east of Sebastian Inlet, Florida.
Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector Miami command center were notified of the situation at 2 p.m., by a crewmember aboard the cruise ship Carnival Fascination. The report stated a 55-year-old passenger aboard the ship was suffering from severe stomach problems. A Coast Guard flight surgeon was notified and recommended the man be medevaced.... [Read More]
