ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— The Coast Guard rescued two people after their 38-foot sailboat ran aground and capsized west of Egmont Key, Florida, Wednesday. At 7:15 a.m. watchstanders at Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg received a report of an aground sailboat taking water over the bow with two people aboard. At 7:17 a.m. a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew from the station was launched. Fort Myers Beach, Fla— The Coast Guard rescued four people from the water after their 22-foot boat capsized two miles west of Sanibel Island, Florida, Monday. At 2:32 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach received a report via VHF-FM radio channel 16 from a good Samaritan reporting four people were in the water after their 22-foot boat capsized. Three of the four people were wearing life jackets. The good Samaritan was able to provide the fourth person with a life jacket, and remained on scene until emergency responders arrived.... SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 47-year-old man from a tanker vessel approximately 150 miles south of San Diego, Monday. At approximately 2 a.m., Monday, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Diego received a notification from the crew of the Hong Kong-flagged liquified petroleum gas tanker Touraine, that a crewmember was suffering from possible kidney stones, and were requesting assistance. Rescuers searched throughout the night for the missing boaters and have covered a total of 1,773 square miles as of 11:00 a.m., Sunday.
