WARRENTON, Ore. — The Coast Guard is monitoring a vessel that lost propulsion and briefly grounded in the vicinity of Welch Island, Wednesday.
The crew of the 738-foot bulk carrier Miyama is currently underway enroute to Kalama north berth, after having effected repairs to their propulsion system, with the tugs Deschutes and Sommer S escorting the vessel.... [Read More]

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A mariner located three overdue boaters Tuesday aground in their recreational boat in the Intracoastal Waterway a few miles south of the mouth of the Arroyo Colorado River.
The men, ages 73, 68 and 54, were located near mile marker 647.

Night time training is important because the majority of ice-rescue cases happen at night, and responders who have to locate and rescue a person who fell through the ice at night are faced with additional obstacles.

JUNEAU, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew medevaced an ailing mariner from the fishing vessel Northern Victor in Beaver Inlet, approximately 13 miles southeast of Dutch Harbor, Sunday.
The helicopter crew, deployed with the Munro on a Bering Sea patrol, departed Dutch Harbor, safely hoisted the 37-year-old man, and transported him to Iliuliuk Family and Health Services in Dutch Harbor.... [Read More]

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard is searching for a 23-year-old man wearing a full blue rain suit and holding onto a dark green 16-foot kayak with an 8-foot blue kayak drifting nearby after overturning Saturday morning near South Deer Island.

Recreational and commercial vessels with less than 25-foot draft are now allowed to transit through the Fort Pierce Inlet safety zone.
