CLEVELAND – The Coast Guard assisted two people back to shore safely after their all-terrain vehicle broke on Lake Erie near Catawba Island, Ohio, Monday night. The names of the individuals assisted are not being released by the Coast Guard, and there is no Coast Guard imagery for this case. ALAMEDA, Calif.  — The Coast Guard is continuing to search Sunday for Richard Byhre, the 76-year-old sailor who did not return from his sailing trip as expected. At 9 p.m. Saturday, watchstanders at the Coast Guard Joint Harbor Operations Center in San Diego received a report from Byhre's wife reporting that he had not returned from his trip underway last week. SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard conducted multiple rescues, recovering a total of six people from the water late Sunday morning. At 10:53 a.m. Sunday, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Command Center watchstanders received report of a 15-foot sailing vessel capsizing near Tiburon. The crews of the Coast Guard Cutters Capstan, Cleat and Chock are working this winter to break ice and maintain navigable waterways from the Delaware River, through the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, down to Tangier Island, Virginia. The crew of the Baltimore-based Chock traveled to Tangier Island to break ice and aid residents by delivering groceries and medical supplies. SARASOTA, Fla. — Two teenagers, who were rescued by the Coast Guard after being stranded in the vicinity of the upper Myakka River, were transported to the Sarasota International Airport Saturday night. Upon arriving at the airport at 11:58 p.m., the teens were evaluated by Emergency Medical Services with no injuries. The teenagers had been stranded in the vicinity of the upper Myakka River in the Flatford Preserve, approximately 30 miles east of Sarasota. SARASOTA, Fla. — The Coast Guard is assisting in the rescue of two teenagers Saturday night in the vicinity of the upper Myakka River in the Flatford Preserve, approximately 30 miles east of Sarasota. Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg command center were notified of the situation by Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 7:52 p.m. The report stated that two teenagers, 15 and 16, were in the swamp and became stranded Friday. HONOLULU — The Coast Guard suspended the search Friday for a student reported overboard from a Japanese training vessel approximately 70 miles southwest of Kauai.
