HONOLULU — A Coast Guard petty officer was convicted during a general court-martial Monday at the Coast Guard Courtroom in the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building.

WASHINGTON — More than 70 years after the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Muskeget was sunk by enemy fire, four National Weather Service meteorologists on board will be posthumously awarded the Purple Heart Medal for their sacrifice. BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and Maryland Natural Resources Police are searching for a 64-year-old man Tuesday in the Choptank River near Oxford.
Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders received a report Monday at approximately 8:30 p.m. from MNRP personnel of a boat washing up on shore.
A Coast Guard boat crew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat - Small launched from Station Oxford to aid MNRP in search efforts.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard is transferring passengers Monday off a grounded ferry in Hatteras Inlet.
Coast Guard watchstanders were notified at 2:20 p.m. that the North Carolina Department of Transportation ferry Roanoke was aground. There were 16 vehicles, 23 passengers and seven crew members aboard the ferry at the time of the grounding.
A 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew launched from Station Hatteras Inlet and is on scene to take passengers off the ferry and relocate them to Hatteras Ferry Terminal in Hatteras.... [Read More]

PHILADELPHIA — The search that began after the Coast Guard received a distress call from a vessel taking on water was called off Monday after the vessel was located in Somers Point, New Jersey.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia received a mayday call on VHF marine radio channel 16 at approximately 12:45 p.m. Sunday from the 43' recreational vessel Interlude, stating the vessel was taking on water and heading into port.

LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 84-year-old man from a 951-foot cruise ship approximately 27 miles west of Santa Barbara, Saturday.
