MIAMI — The crews of the Coast Guard Cutters Kathleen Moore and Marlin repatriated 85 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, Sunday.
These repatriations are a result of seven separate interdictions at sea in the south Florida Straits. These events consisted of Cubans attempting to illegally enter the United States on unseaworthy vessels commonly referred to as "rustics" or "chugs." The crew of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter safely hoists a 43-year-old Filipinoman with a serious eye injury from the 615-foot Norwegian-flagged liquified petroleum gas tanker BW Helios 100 miles off Oahu's north shore Oct. 31, 2015.
The man was safely transferred at 4:30 p.m. to awaiting EMS at Air Station Barbers Point for further transport to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Also available in high definition.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard rescued a 59-year-old man Saturday from a yacht taking on water in Masonboro Inlet.
A 29-foot Response Boat-Small (RBS) crew from Station Wrightsville Beach received a mayday call at 9:37 a.m. while on patrol. The 60-foot yacht Somewhere in Time was taking on water with one man aboard after the yacht stuck a rock jetty.
The RBS crew arrived on scene at 9:40 a.m. The crew transferred the man and returned to the station with no reported injuries.
The Somewhere in Time sank and TowBoat U.S. has been notified.... [Read More]
