CLEVELAND – Coast Guard crews rescued a 24-year-old man who became stranded in Deer Creek Marsh Wildlife Management Area near Oswego, New York, Wednesday night. The man’s name is not being released and there is no imagery available. WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard medevaced an injured woman from a grounded motorboat Tuesday east of Cedar Island. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina in Wilmington received a mayday call from the boat's operator at approximately 4 p.m., reporting his 42-foot motorboat ran aground three miles east of Cedar Island near Ocracoke. The operator stated a 34-year-old woman suffered injuries to her back and arms during the grounding. HONOLULU —The fishing vessel Pacifica moored safely in Honolulu Harbor Monday after taking on water approximately 144 miles north northeast of Oahu. The cause of the flooding was determined to be insufficient shaft packing in the stern tube, which allowed water to enter the vessel. SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard and local fire department personnel enforced a safety zone for containers that fell in the water from the motor vessel NYK Aquarius while offloading cargo at SSA Facility Berth 57 in the Oakland estuary late Saturday. At approximately 8:30 p.m., Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders received a report of three drifting containers in the Oakland estuary.
