HONOLULU — The Coast Guard has located the owner of an inflatable kayak found adrift approximately one mile off Olowalu Beach, Maui, Wednesday. The owner stated the kayak blew off the beach late in the night. PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard suspended its search Wednesday afternoon for a missing man in the Christina River in the vicinity of the Port of Wilmington.Missing is Emanuel Gatling, 25.An employee from Norfolk Dredging Company contacted Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay Command Center watchstanders Tuesday at approximately 6:45 p.m. to report Gatling missing in the water.The employee reported three crewmembers fell into the water after a crane barge capsized. The barge was attached to the dredge Essex. Two of the men resurfaced from the water while Gatling remains missing.... [Read More]

MIAMI — Vessel traffic on the Intracoastal Waterway near Bal Harbour, Florida is restricted following an incident involving a yacht and the Broad Causeway bridge.  Due to the incident, only the bridge's west leaf is able to open.  Restrictions on vessel traffic limit movement of large vessels with a width of 40 feet or less as only one half of the bridge is operational.  ... MIAMI — The Coast Guard is responding to a reported incident involving a yacht and the Broad Causeway bridge in Miami Tuesday evening.  Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Miami command center received a report of an incident involving the east bridge of the causeway and a yacht, which made contact while the vessel was being towed by two tug boats.        BOSTON — A Coast Guard Station Brant Point, Massachusetts, crew transferred the tow of the 90-foot fishing vessel Madison Kate to a contracted salvage company at about noon, Tuesday, in the Great Round Shoal Channel.  At approximately 12:30 a.m., Monday, the fishing vessel Madison Kate notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, that they were disabled due to a turbine casualty. NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard medevaced four people from a vessel fire 35 miles southwest of Grand Isle, Monday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received the report from the offshore supply vessel Dustin Santos at 7a.m., of a vessel fire and four people in a life raft.
