ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— Coast Guard and partnering agencies are searching for a missing kayaker after a kayak overturned in San Carlos Bay, Florida, Friday. Missing is Andrew Barber, 32, from Fort Myers, Florida. At approximately 11 p.m., Friday, watchstanders from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach, Florida, received a 911 transfer call from the Lee County Sherriff's Office from Kyle Woolwine stating his friend Barber was missing after their kayak overturned. KODIAK, Alaska — The Coast Guard medevaced a 23-year-old man with an injured hand from the 120-foot fishing vessel Trailblazer approximately 75 miles north of Cold Bay, Thursday. BOSTON — Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is hosting a media event Monday at 8 a.m. for the embarking of 85 endangered sea turtles found stranded off New England's coast.  Animal caregivers from Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary rescued the cold-stunned turtles from along the Cape Cod and Buzzards Bay shoreline where, following ocean currents southward, they became trapped in the cold water along the cape.... CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Clearwater-based Coast Guardsman was sentenced by a military judge to 18 months confinement, a dishonorable discharge, and a reduction in pay grade to E-1 after being found guilty of aggravated sexual assault at a general court-martial held Friday. MIAMI — The U.S. Coast Guard assembled a joint investigative team with the National Transportation Safety Board and is sending four marine safety professionals from Coast Guard Sector San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Cruise Ship and Investigation National Centers of Expertise, to investigate Thursday's fire on the cruise ship Insignia in St. Lucia that claimed three lives. NEW YORK  — The Coast Guard responded to a light sheen in Sandy Hook Bay, today. At approximately 2:24 p.m. Sector Command Center New York watchstandards received report of an unknown light sheen from an unknown source in Sandy Hook Bay. Station Sandy Hook launched a 47-foot Motor Life Boat. Once on scene the boatcrew members confirmed the report that there was a light sheen that stretched approximately 300 yards wide and two miles in length.
