NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard rescued a man from a life raft 30 miles south of Southwest Pass, Wednesday.
A crewmember aboard the motor vessel Harvey Pacer notified Coast Guard Sector New Orleans after recieving a Mayday call from the sailing vessel Amsheet, reportedly stating it had struck an unknown object and was taking on water and that the owner was in a life raft.... [Read More]

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A Coast Guardsmen accused of sexual assault will face a general court-martial expected to begin on March 2, 2015 in Key West, Florida.
The decision by Vice Adm. William Lee, Coast Guard Atlantic Area commander, is based on the recommendation of an Article 32 hearing held on Nov. 14, 2014. WASHINGTON — The Federal Register Wednesday published the U.S. Coast Guard’s notice of proposed rulemaking amending its regulations on cruise ship terminal security.

Coast Guard, Canadian, other federal, local agencies investigating vessel hijacking on Niagara River
CLEVELAND — The Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, Canada's Niagara Regional Police and the Niagara County Sheriff's Office are investigating a reported hijacking of a Canadian-flagged charter vessel by two Canadian men Tuesday afternoon.

HONOLULU — A boater who has been missing since Nov. 27 was found alive and uninjured aboard his 25-foot sailing vessel Malia 64 miles south of Honolulu, Tuesday.

SAULT STE MARIE, Mich. — The Coast Guard recovered a 55 year-old Polish man from Lake Huron late Sunday morning, after the crew of the motor vessel Lubie, a 622-foot Bahamian-flagged bulk carrier, reported him missing.

Crews from the Coast Guard Cutters Munro and Alex Haley, both with Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-65 Dolphin helicopters embarked, search the Bering Sea for missing crewmembers from the South Korean fishing vessel 501 Oryong Dec. 5, 2014.
The search included two cutters, two helicopters and multiple HC-130 Hercules airplanes from Air Station Kodiak.

MIAMI — Coast Guard and local partners are searching for a possible person in the off Hallandale Beach, Florida, Monday.
At approximately 12 p.m., Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received initial notification from a Hallandale Beach lifeguard stating that he witnessed a male with no lifejacket go out to sea aboard an inflatable raft and later saw the raft adrift with nobody aboard. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico − A Coast Guard helicopter rescue crew from Air Station Borinquen in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico hoisted two U.S. Virgin Islands fishermen to safety Monday morning, approximately 14 nautical miles south of Saint Thomas.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report of a woman reportedly suffering from kidney related issues and was unconscious with a high blood sugar level.
