JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Coast Guard pollution responders determined Wednesday that the Lady St. Johns, a retired passenger boat, is no longer discharging oil into the St. Johns River.
Currently, Moran Environmental Recovery is working with divers from Logan Diving & Salvage to remove the remainder of the fuel from the vessel and is working to clean up the oil from the impacted area.
Salvage of the vessel will be conducted by the owner in a coordinated plan with the city of Jacksonville.... [Read More]

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard is investigating the release of oil from a retired passenger vessel that began sinking at its mooring on the St. Johns River, Tuesday.
Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Jacksonville received the initial report of the release at approximately 7 p.m., stating that the Lady St. Johns was listing to one side and a sheen was spotted around the vessel. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 68-year-old man from a cruise ship 180 miles off of Southwest Pass, La., Sunday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard District 8 received a call requesting a medevac for a man who reportedly suffered a seizure. Watchstanders directed the launch of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans and an HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew from Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi....
