HONOLULU — The Coast Guard is responding to a report of an unmanned 10 to 12-foot purple skiff found washed up in the vicinity of Laenani Neighborhood Park, Oahu, Saturday.

A capsized boat floats in Galveston Bay after Coast Guard boat crews from Station Galveston rescued two people sitting on the hull.
HOUSTON — The Coast Guard rescued two people Friday afternoon after their boat reportedly capsized from a ship's wave north of the Texas City dike near the Houston Ship Channel Friday afternoon.
A good Samaritan called Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders at 5:08 p.m., on VHF-FM channel 16, to report the two people and their capsized boat in need of assistance. ... [Read More]

The Douglas Munro Memorial Ceremony was held in Cle Elum, Wash., near his grave at Laurel Hills Memorial Cemetery Sept. 25, 2015.
Signalman 1st Class Douglas A. Munro is the only Coast Guardsman to receive the Medal of Honor for his sacrifice at the Battle of Guadalcanal during WWII.

VENICE, La. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 67-year-old man from a fishing vessel about 30 miles northeast of Venice, Thursday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call about a man having chest pain and was in and out of consciousness around 3:30 p.m. Watchstanders directed the Coast Guard Cutter Razorbill to the fishing vessel where the man was transferred to the cutter.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter arrived on scene and hoisted the man. He was transferred to the Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.

NEW YORK — A Coast Guard Jayhawk helicopter crew medically evacuated a 41-year-old man 60 miles southeast of Montauk, Friday.
At 8:56 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound command center watchstanders received notification the Decisive, a cable-laying vessel, had a crewmember who was experiencing tingling and numbness in his left arm, as well as chest pains.

HOBUCKEN, N.C. — The Coast Guard rescued two people Wednesday from the Neuse River near Hobucken. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received a mayday call on VHF-FM Channel 16 at 6:39 p.m. from a man and woman aboard the 23-foot sailboat, Sentimental Journey, reporting they were caught in inclement weather. SEATTLE — The Coast Guard Maritime Force Protection Unit, Bangor, Wash. is scheduled to conduct an on-water exercise Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The exercise will be held on the Hood Canal and will include boat tactics, security zone maintenance and weapons capabilities.

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard's search for an 18-year-old man ended following the location of a body offshore of Halona Blowhole, Tuesday. At 7:07 a.m., a body matching the description of the missing man was recovered by Honolulu Fire Department divers and transported to EMS on shore.
