WARRENTON, Ore. — The Coast Guard rescued a 59-year-old man who injured his arm near the Umqua River jetty outside of Winchester Bay.The man, who suffered a severe injury to his arm, was transported back to Coast Guard Station Umpqua River where he was met by local emergency medical services and then transported man to local urgent care.Station Umpqua River watchstanders received the request for assistance from the operator of the 29-foot pleasure craft stating that he injured his arm after being hit by a wave.... WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Coast Guard rescued two people stranded Saturday night after their vessel ran aground near Shallotte.
Sector North Carolina watchstanders received a report at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday of two people stranded on a marshy island in the Lockwood Folly River. The fishing vessel Kokopia was aground and listing in the river and the two people aboard were stranded in the marsh.... [Read More]

BOSTON — A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod hoisted a climber Saturday from a cliff near the Precipice Trail in Acadia National Park in Maine.
At about 1:45 p.m. Saturday, a watchstander from the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, the agency responsible for coordinating inland search and rescue, called the Coast Guard after a National Park Service ranger reported a hiker fell from an 80-foot cliff. ... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued three people from a sinking vessel near Dulac, Saturday, October 8, 2016.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at 9:42 p.m. of a vessel that was taking on water near Terrebonne Bay.
The vessel’s pump was reportedly not keeping up with the flooding and the water was reported as 3-feet deep.... [Read More]

SAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard, partner agencies and good Samaritans responded to a sailboat that capsized in San Francisco near Pier 45 with 30 people aboard Saturday evening.
All people aboard the Khaleesi, a 34-foot recreational sailboat, are reported to have been accounted for at Pier 45.
The Coast Guard and partner agencies were in the vicinity for Fleet Week safety patrols and were able able to quickly respond.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coast Guard air and boat crews, along with beach patrol, police and fire department crews are searching the waters off the Bridgeport Condominiums, near the 300 block of Padre Island Blvd., for a 22-year-old man who went missing Saturday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Coast Guard medevacked a 60-year-old male Saturday from the University of South Carolina Bluffton.
Coast Guard Sector Charleston received a report from local emergency medical services at 12:12 p.m. a man was suffering from chest pains.
EMS was on scene but unable to transport the man to the hospital due to poor road conditions.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Savanna conducted the medevac and took the man to Savannah Memorial Hospital in stable condition.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile in Mobile, Alabama, is sending assets and personnel to Savannah, Georgia, to assist with response to Hurricane Matthew.
ATC sent two MH-60 Medium Range Recovery helicopters and three MH-65 Dolphin helicopters to Coast Guard Air Station Savannah Saturday, October 8, 2016, to aid in hurricane response efforts.
ATC plans to send additional search and rescue crews on Sunday.
