A Coast Guard boat crew from Station Cape Disappointment, aboard a 29-foot Response Boat-Small II, and an aircrew aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Air Station Astoria, rescue three people after their 16-foot boat grounded on Sand Island, Wash., July 2, 2015.
The Jayhawk aircrew safely transported all three boaters to Station Cape Disappointment with no injuries.

Lt. Cmdr. C.K. Moore transferred the duties and responsibilities of commanding officer to Lt. Noel Johnson during the ceremony.
Capt. Benjamin Cooper, the commander of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, in Philadelphia, presided over the ceremony.

MIAMI — Crewmembers aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Raymond Evans repatriated 38 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, Thursday.
This repatriation is a result of four separate migrant interdictions at sea in the south Florida Straits. In all instances Cubans were trying to illegally enter the United States on unseaworthy vessels commonly referred to as "rustics" or "chugs." ... [Read More]

LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard is reminding the public to exercise safe boating during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The week of July Fourth typically experiences a high number of boaters taking to the water. The Coast Guard advises the public to take responsibility for their safety on the beaches, lakes and waterways of California. Boaters should be aware of, and obey, all federal and state regulations for recreational boating and navigation.

NEW ORLEANS – The Mississippi River and many of its tributaries will experience high water levels during the Fourth of July weekend.
The Coast Guard highly recommends boaters assess the risks associated with high water and take appropriate precautions. This includes always wearing a lifejacket, double-checking that required equipment such as visual and audio distress signals, personal flotation devices and a fire extinguisher are present and in working condition. CAPE MAY, N.J. — Recruits from Coast Guard Training Center Cape May shot live ammunition for the first time since 2009 at a range on board the FAA Technical Center in Galloway, N.J., Wednesday.
