HOUSTON — Coast Guard boat and helicopter crews suspended searches Sunday, after exhausting search efforts for a 29-year-old man 3 miles off Kemah and a 23-year-old man near the Pleasure Pier in Galveston.
"Wear a lifejacket, even if you are a strong swimmer. You never know what is going to happen," said Lt.j.g. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Coast Guard rescued five people from the water after their 48-foot boat sank 10 miles west of Crystal River, Florida, Saturday night.
At 9:27 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a call via VHF-FM radio channel 16 from a man stating his boat was taking on water with a total of five people aboard, all wearing life jackets.
A 27-foot Response Boat-Small from Coast Guard Station Yankeetown, Florida, and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew were launched.... [Read More]

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard, Kemah Fire Department and good Samaritans are searching for a missing man about 3 miles off Kemah Saturday.
Missing is 29-year-old Phillip Davis, a 5-foot 9-inch black man wearing orange swim trunks.

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — The officers and crew of Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City will dedicate a mural to honor the Coast Guard’s Vietnam Combat Search and Rescue pilots, May 13, as part of the National Vietnam War Commemoration program to memorialize the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

CORTEZ, Fla.—The Coast Guard and Mote Marine Laboratory released a rehabilitated 255 lb loggerhead sea turtle into the wild from Lido Key, Florida, Friday.
Coast Guard Station Cortez crewmembers rescued the oggerhead sea turtle, Mrs. Turt Lee, near Longboat Pass, Florida, in 2014.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Legare returned to Portsmouth Friday following a 36-day patrol in the Atlantic Ocean.
