SAN FRANCISCO — A Coast Guard aircrew exited an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter with only minor injuries after the helicopter crashed during a maintenance test flight at Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco Monday.
At 2:55 p.m., while hovering approximately 10 feet from the ground, the helicopter experienced an apparent malfunction as the pilot attempted to land. The aircraft ended up on its side.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida – The Coast Guard is working in close coordination with SpaceX and partner agencies to monitor the Falcon 9 debris field currently located more than 150 miles off the Florida-Georgia coast.
The Coast Guard is cautioning vessels transiting that area and asking the public to report any sightings of debris that may wash ashore. Currently, no impacts from debris are expected for Florida beaches, and authorities will continue to monitor for any changes to this estimate.... [Read More]

CHICAGO – The Coast Guard is responding to a report of an oil sheen about 150-feet by 200-feet in size in DuSable Harbor Monday afternoon.
Coast Guard pollution responders on scene believe the sheen was caused by diesel originating from a 30-foot pleasure craft moored in the harbor.
Sorbent boom and sorbent pads have been deployed to contain and recover the product.

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard suspended its search Monday for a man missing on the Chesapeake Bay in the vicinity of Kent Island north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.The name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.Coast Guard and partner agencies searched for the missing boater from approximately 5 p.m. Sunday until 9:30 a.m. Monday. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— The Coast Guard rescued two people after their sailboat started taking on water on the Caloosahatchee River in Cape Coral, Florida, Sunday.
At 6:58 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a call, via VHF-FM marine radio, from a Cape Coral Sea Tow crewmember reporting a 26-foot sailboat was taking on water with two people aboard. There were no reported injuries.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is searching for a missing jet skier near Fort Morgan, Alabama, Sunday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call from the Baldwin County 911 at approximately 3:40 p.m., stating a jet skier was reportedly struck by lightning and then dragged behind the Jet Ski. The watchstanders directed the launch of Coast Guard rescue crews.
The reporting source stated the jet skier looked to be a Caucasian male with dark hair and was heading in a southwesterly direction.
