PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard medevaced a man near Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, Saturday.
The New Jersey State Police contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Cape May at about 1 p.m. reporting a 57-year-old man aboard a 25-foot recreational boat suffered a head injury near Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.
Station Cape May launched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew to assist. The boat crew arrived on scene four minutes after receiving the initial notification and transported the man to awaiting emergency medical personnel at Coast Guard Training Center Cape May.... [Read More]

HONOLULU — The Coast Guard rescued eight crewmembers from a burning ship two miles offshore Oahu, Thursday.
Eight people are safe after a rescue and assist team from USCGC Galveston Island (WPB-1349) fought and extinguished an engineroom fire aboard commercial fishing vessel Lady Anna two miles south of Honolulu Harbor.

WARRENTON, Ore. — The Coast Guard and its partner agencies National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Oregon State Police and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife conducted a coordinated law enforcement effort throughout the three-day Halibut Derby ensuring safe and legal fishing among the fishing fleets from northern Oregon and southern Washington.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Petty Officer 2nd Class Eric D. Pruett was found not guilty of Articles 120 – Sexual Assault and 128 – Assault, of the Uniform Code of Military Justice Friday.

Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville watchstanders received a distress call reporting a 100-foot tug and barge was on fire at 5:05 p.m. A Coast Guard 45-foot Response Boat - Medium crew from Station Ponce De Leon and MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater were launched.
A good Samaritan recovered the crew and is en route to Station Ponce De Leon.... [Read More]

NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard suspended the search for a missing person in the water on the Upper Mississippi River near mile marker 175, near Reidy Terminals, Missouri, Thursday.
The search for the 29-year-old man was suspended at 9:49 p.m., Thursday after the Coast Guard and local agencies searched from mile marker 149 to mile marker 175 for approximately 17 hours.
The missing man was reported to have fallen off a kayak after hitting towlines between two barges Thursday morning. He was reportedly not wearing a life jacket.

CHICAGO — Crew members from Coast Guard Station Wilmette Harbor in Chicago saved the life of a 2-year-old girl after responding to a notification that she had fallen off of a vessel and into the water near Navy Pier Thursday afternoon.
