Rough waters can be seen near the Coquille River bar where a Coast Guard air and boat crew and local agencies recovered three mariners whose vessel capsized near Bandon, Ore., Sept. 24, 2016.The bar is the area where the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean meet with the shallower waters near the mouth of the river.

MIAMI — The Coast Guard and local agencies located three bodies Saturday 23 miles southeast of Islamorada while following up on a report from a good Samaritan.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Key West Command Center personnel received a report of a person in the water from a good Samaritan. SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 47-year-old man from a cruise ship approximately 9 miles southwest of Point Loma, San Diego, Saturday morning.
The crew of the cruise ship Ruby Princess contacted Coast Guard Sector San Diego watchstanders at approximately 11:35 p.m., Friday reporting that a crewmember was experiencing symptoms of a heart attack.... [Read More]

A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevacs an injured hunter after he was mauled by a bear while hunting on Admiralty Island near Juneau, Alaska, Sept. 23, 2016.
The aircrew hoisted the hunter and transferred him to local emergency medical services personnel in Juneau.

BOSTON — The Coast Guard suspended the search Friday for Linda and Nathan Carman after searching for six days and exhausting all search efforts.
Initially, at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Southeastern New England received a report that 54-year-old Linda Carman and her 22-year-old son Nathan Carman failed to return from an offshore fishing trip. At 11:01 a.m. watch standers from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a call via VHF-FM marine band radio channel 16 from a crew member aboard a recreational boat. SEATTLE — A Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles aircrew medically evacuated a male passenger from the cruise ship Explorer of the Seas, near La Push, Thursday morning.
The 66-year-old male, who was reportedly suffering from internal bleeding, was safely airlifted by the Coast Guard aircrew and transported to Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Coast Guard repatriated 37 of 43 Dominican migrants to the Dominican Republic Wednesday morning following three at-sea interdictions by Caribbean Border Interagency Group law enforcement authorities Monday in the Mona Passage.
