    NEW YORK — A Coast Guard Fire Island rescue crew medically evacuated a man near Fire Island, Saturday. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound command center received notification at approximately 3:00 p.m., from a 72-foot passenger vessel that reported they had an unconscious 81-year old adult man aboard and requested a medical evacuation.  The passenger vessel also reported they had an emergency medical technician (EMT) aboard who was tending to the needs of the unconscious male.... JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard is seeking the public’s assistance Saturday in identifying the owner of a red and yellow kayak found approximately 30 feet from New Smyrna Beach. NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued three people from a sinking vessel in Pascagoula Channel, Mississippi, Friday.  Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a radio transmission at 8:13 p.m. from a 57-foot wooden vessel named Lady Nonne that reported they were taking on water. Coast Guard Station Pascagoula launched a 45-Foot Response Boat and a 24-Foot special purpose craft-shallow water boat. Air Station New Orleans launched a MH-65 Helicopter which located the Lady Nonne and utilized a rescue swimmer who hoisted all three people.... [Read More]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk crew rescued three people from a sunken jet boat on the Lace River near Berners Bay approximately 36 miles northwest of Juneau Thursday night. NORFOLK, Va. -- Cadet Michael Shermot was found guilty of sexual assault, and sentenced today to one year in prison and dismissal from the service by the military judge, Capt. Gary E. Felicetti, at general court-martial.  Shermot, who was found guilty yesterday of violating Article 120 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, has the right to appeal his conviction and sentence. LOS ANGELES — The Captain of the Port will be enforcing a temporary safety zone in the vicinity of the SS Lane Victory, located in San Pedro on September 17, 2016.
